MagicDeathEye is an emulator of a high-end tube compressor, available in AUv3 and inter-app audio formats. It stands out for its unique customization from the ground up. Developed by Magic Death Eye and DDMF over nearly a year, this compressor offers exceptional sound quality, user-friendly controls, and a visually pleasing interface. It is designed to integrate seamlessly into your workflow as a versatile mixing tool.

The Magic Death Eye compressor is particularly effective on vocals, bass, keys, and various other instruments due to its gentle compression curve. It is also well-suited for master bus applications, offering a wide range of sidechain timing options to address various mixing challenges.

The input level adjusts the intake of signal into the intricately modeled input transformer, tubes, and output transformer. The threshold setting determines the signal directed to the sidechain circuit, essentially controlling the level of compression applied. The extent of compression is dependent on the volume of the input signal.

By selecting the "output adjust" option, users can access a fader with a range of +5dB to -20dB, serving as a post-compressor master volume control—an enhancement over the original hardware with finer adjustment capabilities.

The "time" knob manages the compression's attack and release. The numerical scale from "1" (fastest) to "4" (slowest) denotes these settings, while "D1" and "D2" feature a fast attack and dual-release mechanism covering medium to slow intervals.

The "attack" switch corresponds to three response options—Fast, Medium, or Slow—affecting all time settings collectively. Additionally, the "150Hz filter switch" reduces frequencies below 150Hz sent to the sidechain when activated. This feature prevents low-frequency elements like kick drums from overly affecting overall compression—a valuable asset for subtly processing entire mixes.

In line with the hardware model, both the bypass and power switch execute a hard bypass function, halting signal processing entirely.
